CHATEAU ANGELUS - SAINT EMILION 1ER GRAND CRU CLASSE - 2011
This Premier Grand Cru Classé, Château Angélus, gets its name from the winegrowers who used to simultaneously hear the chimes of the three churches located in the heart of the famous medieval town, Saint-Émilion. This appellation's mythical estate was founded in 1782 and, for 8 generations, the de Boüard de Laforest family has looked after this exceptional heritage.
Château Angélus watches over a 27-hectare vineyard, the vines are 38 years of age on average and are located on Saint-Émilion’s south facing hillside. This terroir spreads over clay-limestone soils in the upper part and clay-sand-limestone soils on the hillside.

    Tasting Notes
The 2011 Angelus is another winner from Hubert de Bouard. Supple and sexy with lots of blueberry and black raspberry fruit intermixed with licorice, barbecue smoke and camphor, this medium to full-bodied, supple-textured, sexy effort offers delicious drinking now, and promises to become even better over the next decade. It should keep for 15 or more years.
